About Coin Tide
Coin Tide is a free coin runner game you play right in your browser. Your runner sprints down a bright runway over the sea on its own; all you do is steer. Every coin you scoop up joins a jingling crowd of coins that runs with you, and the bubble above it shows your stack. Pick the right side of every gate pair to multiply that stack, steer the crowd around spinning bars, saws and swinging hammers, and climb the finish steps to bank as much as you can.
Between runs you walk around your own seaside town and pour your coins into build pads. Every new attraction pays tips after each run, and finishing a district opens the next one. It is a quick hyper casual game with a real sense of progress: a run takes about half a minute, and there is always one more thing to build.
How to play
- Steer left and right. You run forward by yourself. On a phone, drag anywhere on the game; on a computer, use the arrow keys, A and D, or drag with the mouse.
- Collect coins. They join your crowd. A wider crowd scoops up more coins, but it is also harder to squeeze past obstacles.
- Choose the better gate. Blue (+) adds, green (x2, x3) multiplies, red (- and ÷) takes. Read both sides before you commit.
- Dodge the obstacles. Whatever they touch flies off your crowd into the sea. Holes, gaps and narrow walkways are deadly: stay on the floor or you fall into the sea.
- Mind the special gates. A gold gate marked 50+ ONLY pays big but takes everything from a smaller stack. From level 10 a toll gate before the finish takes a big bite.
- Climb the finish. Your stack pays its way up nine steps, x1 to x5. You bank your stack times the step you reach.
- Build your town. Walk onto a glowing pad to build an attraction, buy upgrades at the booths by the pier, then walk through the RUN arch for the next level.

Gates, multipliers and the finish
Gates come in pairs, and most pairs have a clear winner. The interesting ones are the close calls: a +40 next to an x2 is the better pick only while your stack is under 40. Now and then both sides are red, and the smart move is the one that leaves you more. A multiplier never pushes a stack past its cap for the level, and a red gate that takes your last coin ends the run.
The finish is a staircase of nine steps: x1, x1.5, x2 and on up to x5. Your stack pours coins into each step it lights, and the runner stops at the last one it can pay for. Bank the result, collect your town's tips, and the next level is a little longer, a little faster and worth more.
Obstacles
- Walls block part of the runway, sometimes as a slalom of two.
- Spinning bars sweep one side of the runway; the far side stays clear, but the coins are often right in the sweep.
- Saws roll back and forth across the runway in a slot. Time your pass.
- Rams slide in from the edge and shove coins into the sea, and you too if you are caught between the ram and the edge.
- Hammers swing across the middle from a gantry overhead.
- Holes in the runway: steer around them or you fall in; coins over them drop into the water.
- Gaps cut the whole runway: cross on a bridge (later a narrow one, then a swaying one). Your crowd squeezes in behind you; stragglers fall.
- Narrow walkways leave only a strip of deck over the water. Stay on it.
- Crushers slam down on one lane. Go round, or pass just after one lifts.
- Speed pads fling you forward, often right before something nasty.
New obstacles show up one at a time over the first levels. Hardcore throws all of them at you from the start, with a toll gate on every level, runs faster and has its own leaderboard.
Your seaside town
Your town starts as an empty square by the pier. Walk onto a glowing build pad and your coins stream into it; when it is paid, builders hammer away and the attraction pops up. Each one pays tips after every finished run and brings more visitors to town. Finish Seaside Square to open Boardwalk Park, and Boardwalk Park to open Sunset Heights, with a ferris wheel, a roller coaster and a golden statue of the fastest runner. The three upgrade booths (Piggy Bank, Coin Magnet and Bubble Shield) help every run after.
Tips
Multiply late, add early
A plus gate is worth the same whatever you carry; a multiplier grows with your stack. Early in a level, take the big plus; once your crowd is fat, the x2 wins.
Mind your width
Your crowd spreads out behind you. Line up with the gap early, so the coins trailing behind have time to follow you through it.
Spend between runs
Tips arrive after every finished run, so build the cheap attractions first. The Piggy Bank pays for itself quickly: a run that starts with coins already in the crowd reaches the multipliers sooner.

Coin Tide FAQ
Is Coin Tide free?
Yes. Coin Tide is a free coin runner game in your browser, with no download and no account. Signing in is optional and only adds the online leaderboards, daily quests, cosmetic skins and keeps your town and level with your account.
Can I play Coin Tide offline?
Yes. Open the page once while you are online and your browser keeps the game. After that you can run, bank and build with no connection at all: your level, coins and town are saved on your device.
Can I start over?
Yes. Once you have progress, the title menu shows CONTINUE and NEW GAME. NEW GAME asks first, then erases your level, your coins and every building in town, so you start again from level 1 with an empty square. Your best runs on the leaderboards and your skins from Rewards stay.
How do the gates work?
Every gate pair has two sides and you run through one of them. Blue gates (+) add coins, green gates (x2, x3) multiply your whole stack, red gates (- or ÷) take coins away. When both sides are good, the multiplier is worth more on a big stack and the plus on a small one. When both are red, pick the one that costs you less.
What happens when I hit an obstacle?
Walls, spinning bars, saws, rams and swinging hammers knock the coins they touch off your crowd, with a satisfying spill into the sea. One obstacle never takes more than about half of your crowd. Some can end the run outright: holes, gaps and narrow walkways drop your runner into the sea if you steer off the floor, crushers squash you if you pass under them at the wrong moment, and rams and hammers can knock you over the edge. A run also ends if your stack hits zero, at a red gate, a gold "50+ ONLY" gate you could not afford or the toll before the finish.
How does the finish work?
At the end of the runway your stack climbs nine steps from x1 to x5. The more coins you bring, the higher you climb, and you bank your stack times the step you reach. Reach the top step, x5, and the treasure chest opens: jackpot.
What can I build in my town?
Eighteen attractions in three districts: a hot dog cart, benches, a fountain, a vending machine, flower gardens and an ice cream kiosk in Seaside Square; palms, a carousel, an arcade booth, a bandstand, a lighthouse and a ferris wheel in Boardwalk Park; a hot-air balloon, a clock tower, a fireworks tower, a roller coaster, a coin vault and a golden statue in Sunset Heights. Every attraction pays tips after each run, and finishing a district opens the next.
What do the upgrades do?
Three booths by the pier sell upgrades: the Piggy Bank starts every run with coins already in your crowd, the Coin Magnet lets you scoop coins from further away, and the Bubble Shield blocks the first obstacle hits of each run.
How do I steer on a phone?
Drag left and right anywhere on the game screen; the runner follows your finger. The arrows of the on-screen pad steer too. In your town an analog stick walks your runner around and the RUN button starts the next level. On a computer use the arrow keys or A and D, or drag with the mouse.
Where does the runway go?
Every three levels the runway moves on to a new world, each with its own sky, scenery, runway and obstacles it likes: Candy Coast, a tropical isle with rope bridges, a sunny bay, a desert canyon over a river, a neon city at night, a mint lagoon, a snowy fjord, the lavender isles, a lava bay under a volcano and a sunset pier. After the tenth world the loop starts again.
How does the leaderboard work?
The Coin Tide leaderboards keep your best single run: the coins it banked at the finish. Hardcore has its own board. Later levels are worth more, so the board rewards both skill and how far you got.
Can I change how my runner looks?
Yes. Signed-in players can spend the stars from daily quests and the login streak on cosmetics in Rewards, in three slots you can mix: the runner (Beach Surfer, Neon Night, Golden Tycoon, Pirate, Space Runner), the coins (Dollar, Euro, Pound, Yen, Hryvnia and Rupee coins with their currency sign, and Diamond coins) and the runway in every world (Rainbow Road, Glass Bridge, Golden Boardwalk). Skins never change how the game plays.
