About Pixel Muster
Pixel Muster is a free auto battler you play right in your browser. It is late at night in an old bookshop, and eight storytellers (you and seven rivals) open pop-up books on the tables. Figures step out of the pages: the Big Bad Wolf, Gerda and Kai, the Tin Woodman, Baba Yaga, the Firebird, Koschei the Deathless and sixty more characters from the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, Andersen, Perrault, Hoffmann, Baum and Collodi, the Arabian Nights and Ukrainian and Slavic folk tales.
Every round you buy figures at the stall, merge three copies into a finer edition, set them on your page and watch them brawl. Every lost fight costs HP. The last storyteller with HP left wins.

How to play
- Buy at the stall: five cards a round, each costing its tier (1 to 5 gold). Reroll for 2 gold, or lock the stall for the next round.
- Place units on your page (the bottom half of the board). Your level is how many may stand there. Buy XP to level up: 4 XP for 5 gold a click, and the XP button shows what the next level costs from where you are.
- Merge: three copies make a 2-star unit, three 2-stars a 3-star.
- Build alliances: units with the same tag switch on bonuses, from Beast armor to Witch curses and Fairy links.
- Fight: press FIGHT! and the figures fight on their own. Tanks in front, archers and casters behind.
- Shop during the fight: the next round's cards are dealt as the fight starts. Open SHOP while your figures fight to buy to the bench, reroll, lock or buy XP; your page waits for the fight to end.
- Win items in the wild rounds: gear for a unit, kept charms and contraptions for your page.
- Mind your gold: interest on every 10 gold you keep makes a strong economy, but a weak page costs HP.
Three copies make a star
With two copies on your bench, the third card in the shop shows two gold stars. Buy it and the three merge at once.

Find an alliance's units at a glance
Hover an alliance (on a phone: tap it) and its cards in the shop glow while its units on your page and bench get a ring. Hover a shop card and the list shows what it would add, such as "Beast 5 → 6".

Loot from the wild rounds
Every option shows what it does. Tap or click one to select it, then press Pick.

Modes
Open MODES in the title menu, pick a mode to read its rules and the board it ranks on, then press START. A game in progress keeps its mode: CONTINUE takes you back to your Compact or Knockout game.
| Mode | What changes | Leaderboard |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | The full game: 100 HP, about 35 to 45 rounds. | Standard (Hardcore apart) |
| Compact | A lost fight costs more (the round part of the damage is doubled), so a game takes about 30 rounds. | Compact (Hardcore apart) |
| Knockout | 6 hearts (5 on Hardcore): a lost or drawn fight costs one. Start at level 4 with a team of three you pick; a free level and an item every 2 rounds, no XP to buy, 7 gold a round, the shop deals as if you were 4 levels higher (at most the odds of level 8), no wild rounds. About 15 rounds, round 30 at most. | Knockout (Hardcore apart) |
| Daily Muster | The same start for everyone each day, Standard rules and Normal rivals. One ranked try a day; games after it are practice. A new one opens at 00:00 UTC. | Daily Muster (today) |

Tips
Save up early
Interest pays 1 gold for every 10 you hold at the start of a fight, up to 5. A bank of 30 to 50 gold by round 10 pays for the rest of the game.
Front and back
Tanks such as the Three Little Pigs, the Tin Soldier or Kotyhoroshko belong in the front row; archers and casters at the back, away from Tricksters who leap at them.
Watch the pool
Hold a finger on a card (or hover it) to see how many copies are left. If your rivals are collecting the same units, switch to another plan.

Pixel Muster FAQ
Is Pixel Muster free?
Yes. Pixel Muster is a free auto battler in your browser, with no download and no account. Signing in is optional and only adds the online leaderboards, daily quests and cosmetic skins, and keeps a game in progress with your account.
Can I play Pixel Muster offline?
Yes. Open the page once while you are online and your browser keeps the game. After that every game plays with no connection at all: the seven rival storytellers live inside the game, not on a server. A game in progress is saved at every step on your device.
What is an auto battler?
A strategy game where you build a team and the fights play themselves. Between fights you buy units, place them and level up; during a fight the units choose their own targets and use their abilities when their mana is full. The skill is in what you buy, what you keep and where you put it.
Is Pixel Muster like Auto Chess or Dota Underlords?
Yes, it's the same genre: you draft units from a shared pool, combine three copies into a stronger one, build alliances and watch the fights play out automatically against seven rivals. Pixel Muster is an original game with its own storybook heroes, alliances and items, made by NoInternet Arcade and not affiliated with Drodo Studio (Auto Chess) or Valve (Dota Underlords). It plays free in the browser, on phones and offline.
How do stars work?
Buy three copies of the same unit and they merge at once into a 2-star unit with double HP and damage and a stronger ability. Three 2-star copies make a 3-star unit with four times the HP and damage. All eight players buy from one shared pool, so a unit your rivals collect shows up less for you.
What are alliances?
Every unit has three tags, such as Beast, Child, Witch or Princess. Enough different units with the same tag on your page switch on its alliance: core tags at 3, 6 and 9 units, mid tags at 2, 4 and 6, elite tags at 2 and 4. Each of the nine tier 5 units is the Ace of one tag, with an extra power while that alliance is on.
How does the gold work?
You get 5 gold a round (less in the first rounds), 1 more for a win, 1 interest for every 10 gold you keep (up to 5) and streak gold for three or more wins or losses in a row. A reroll of the stall costs 2 gold, 4 XP cost 5 gold, and your level is the number of units you may put on your page.
Can I shop during a fight?
Yes. The stall deals the next round's cards as the fight starts, so you can study them while your figures fight, and nothing rerolls when the fight ends. Tap SHOP (Q on a keyboard) during the fight to buy units to your bench, reroll, lock the stall, buy XP or sell bench units. The fight itself never changes: units you buy join your page in the next prep, and three copies with one on the page merge then.
What are the wild rounds?
Rounds 1, 2, 3, 10, 15 and every fifth round after that are fought against creatures of the fairy-tale forest: hedgehogs and wolf cubs first, later bridge trolls, nightmare bears, stone giants, the Great Dragon and the Leshy. Win one and you pick an item from three; lose and you still get one at random.
How long is a game?
A Standard game lasts about 35 to 45 rounds, 20 to 25 minutes with fights at double speed. A Compact game takes about 30 rounds, and Knockout ends by round 30 at the latest. Fights can run at x1, x2 or x4, or be skipped. The game saves at every step: pause, go back to the menu or close the tab and CONTINUE right where you were, in the same mode.
What modes are there?
MODES in the title menu has four: Standard (the full game), Compact (lost fights hurt twice as much, so games are shorter), Knockout (6 hearts, 5 on Hardcore, a starting team you pick, a free level and an item every 2 rounds, 7 gold a round, a richer shop, no wild rounds, about 15 rounds) and the Daily Muster (the same game for everyone each day). Pick one to read its rules and the board it ranks on before you start.
What is the Daily Muster?
One game a day that starts the same for every player (the same rivals and the same first shop), with Standard rules and Normal rivals. Your first Daily game of the day is your ranked try on the Daily Muster leaderboard; you can pause and continue it, and any game after it is practice. A new Daily opens at 00:00 UTC, and the MODES menu shows whether your try is used and when the next one opens.
How does the scoring work?
A game scores 1,000 points for first place, 700 for second, then 500, 350, 250, 150, 80 and 30, plus 10 for every round you played, plus 5 for every HP (in Knockout, every heart) the winner has left. Each mode has its own Pixel Muster leaderboard that keeps your best game, and Standard, Compact and Knockout each have a Hardcore board too. The boards marked "old rules" keep the scores from before the October 2026 rebalance.
How do I play on a phone?
Tap the game to play full screen; it works upright and sideways, each with its own layout. Tap a card to buy, drag a unit to move it (a tap shows its card), and hold a finger on anything for its info card. To sell, tap a unit and then SELL.
What is Hardcore?
OPTIONS > DIFFICULTY: HARDCORE. Every rival plays at its best, the prep has a 30 second timer, there is no free reroll after a loss, defeats cost 25% more HP and the wild rounds are 15% tougher; in Knockout you start with 5 hearts instead of 6. Hardcore games have their own leaderboards (Standard, Compact and Knockout); the Daily Muster always plays against Normal rivals.
